why pica exists

hi, i'm fez.

i built pica after trying to answer a simple question: what do i actually own, and what does it earn?

the answer was scattered across spreadsheets, pro portals, pdf statements, and old email threads about splits. the same song had three different versions of the truth depending on where you looked. none of them agreed. that's when it clicked. the problem wasn't the music. it was the system that describes it.

the music industry runs on metadata. isrcs, iswcs, ipis, splits, agreements, statements. every pound that flows back to a writer, performer, or producer passes through a chain of identifiers most people never see. when those identifiers are wrong, the money goes to the wrong place quietly, for years.

pica is the spreadsheet that knows what it's looking at. you tell it about your work in plain english. it connects the dots across external databases to verify the identifiers. it finds inconsistencies before they become losses. it produces the registrations the industry actually accepts.

the bet is simple. ai becomes the interface to your catalogue. not another dashboard. not another system to learn. just a conversation layer over everything you've made and everything it connects to. if your catalogue is legible to an ai, it becomes legible to the industry — and to the financial systems behind it.

if you want to try it, the install is one config block away on the connect page.

if you want to talk first, fez@withpica.com. i read every message.
